In this luxurious venue, eight of our very own TCS art students were honorably recognized for their artistic ability. "Celebrating Hawaii with My Family and Friends" was the theme of this year's prestigious, juried art show. Student interpretations of how they see or feel their local celebrations was open to all kindergarten through sixth graders, from both public and private schools throughout our Islands. The Student Art Exhibition 2016 is a program established by the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts (HSFCA). A distinguished team of judges selected 96 artworks for this year-long exhibition.
The artwork is showcased in the Pa Kamali'i Courtyard on the third floor. Please visit and check out both our TCS students’ artwork as well as the Artists of Hawaii biennial exhibition. One of my favorite artists, Jean Charlot, has several murals there too. It is such a rich and inspiring visual experience to behold!
All of our winners are sixth-graders, except for Rayla Okasaki, who is in the fourth grade.
