As it turns out, it's a lot of work to grow a preschool (TCS, 1981) into a high school (TCS, 2017). A preschool and a high school are nothing alike! Yes, there are teachers and students but that's where the similarity ends. There is just no comparison between the preschool fundamentals of walking in a line, tying your shoes, and ABC's to the high school fundamentals of senior thesis, biathlon, and graduation. Both are critical stepping stones in the development of the TCS students, but so different!
As TCS has grown, have we (myself included as a parent and a staff) gotten everything right? Not even close! Do we make improvements and adjustments each year? Absolutely. Do we provide the students with a solid education? Yes, and it gets better every year.
The 2016-2017 school year felt like we'd arrived. I just might know what I'm doing! As a parent, I have a high school freshman and I can see the path to prepare her socially, spiritually, and academically for adulthood. As a TCS staff member I have done this before. Maybe the rate of change is slowing down and the process of becoming excellent at educating the students is the next phase. That may be the most exciting part of all. The teachers love what they do and with each year I watch them get more excited, creative, and dynamic in their ability to not only teach, but teach classically.
I think Trinity has grown up. TCS has grown beyond a cute preschool or elementary school, into a competitive preschool through high school. Looking forward to 2017-2018, I think there will be an ongoing refinement to the craft of education, to the business of running a school, and the challenges involved with growing up.

Daniel 2:20-22
Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his. He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him.
