So, we seniors finally got to look around Athens, Greece. Honestly, out of all the places we went so far, this place is my favorite. There were a total of three places we visited today: the Corinth Canal, ancient Corinth, and the Acropolis. The first place was more of a view point that was briefly visited. The view was great, and it was an interesting sight, but I did not like it because we were literally standing over the river on a bridge, and my fear of heights did not like that. Once we arrived in Corinth, I noticed it was pretty much all sun little shade. The place itself was interesting, and there were some interesting statues and other stone creations. There was the temple of Apollo in the ancient city of Corinth, not the modern city, the temple of Octavia, and the Bema, the place where Paul was taken to be judged. Personally, the most interesting portion of the site was the clay body parts that were used as payments for the doctors healing the patients. The final place visited was the Acropolis, which was actually close to our hotel. Much like Corinth, it was mostly sunny, but there was more shade. Out of all the sites today, this was my favorite one. The climb up wasn't really strenuous, the remains of the building was actually pretty interesting, and I got to relearn some of the mythological events that happened in the site. At the top was the Parthenon, a temple to Athena, and Mars Hill, where we did our journal entries. Overall, the day was just pleasant. Except for the canal. I HATE HEIGHTS.
