CHERISH HENRY - PARIS
“One day I will go to Paris,” I told myself as a young girl. That dream finally came true. I couldn’t have asked for more on my 17th birthday, I spent the day with great friends in a great city. To start off the day we took the metro to the Opera House, to see the huge and elaborate architecture from the outside of the building. Then when walked to the neighborhood of Montmartre and saw the massive church of Sacre Coeur on a hill overlooking all of Paris ; it was absolutely gorgeous. When we finally made it to the top, after climbing many flights of stairs, we could see the whole city. The view was breathtaking. After this we walked around a bit, stopping in little boutiques every now and then. Since it was Sunday, lots of the shops were closed. We then took the metro to the Arch De Triumph, which was a lot bigger than I though it had been. Since we were in Paris, it was a must to see the Eiffel Tower. We got sandwiches and had a picnic right next to the Eiffel Tower; does it get any better than that? As the day went on, it only got better and better. We walked through the garden to see the Louvre. However, we didn’t go in the Louvre because we wanted more time to see the city and explore. We shopped some more but it began to rain. Because we were getting cold and wet, we all decided to stop at a café for coffee and hot chocolate to warm up. Then we headed to Notre Dame. This was really amazing because of the architecture and beauty of the building. Then we went to the Shakespeare & Co bookstore, which was a little hole in the wall shop that was filled with books. After that, it was time for my birthday dinner where we went to a cute restaurant. This was a great time of fun and laughter. Next we walked the streets of Paris by Brittney’s apartment. Then from a distance, we saw the Eiffel Tower sparkle on the hour. What a great way to end the night. We took the metro back to our hotel and enjoyed our last night in Paris. Paris was an amazing experience; I wish we could’ve stayed longer.
