The sun is rising over the Ko’olau Mountains, and the Trinity seniors are on their way--exhausted, excited, and frankly, exhausted. After a brief stop at the L.A.X., we arrived in London on Halloween, although everyone was quite disoriented, having switched time zones twice. This afternoon (London time), our adventure began with touring the streets of London. Between Westminster and Big Ben, Parliament and London Bridge, we also saw breathtaking brick buildings and marble statues, straight from an English movie. We were even able to see several buildings and a bridge used in the Harry Potter films and saw the alleyway of Sweeney Todd (briefly). One could so easily imagine Regent-era people once walking down these ancient streets. We left the tour bus to see Buckingham Palace, an amazing sight even though most of the seniors were freezing in the crisp air. A flag on top of the building indicated that the Queen was in residence! The skies turned dark at about 4 p.m., and the lovely lights of London gave the city a whole new look. As we drive to our hotel, with everyone tired and hungry, we are saddened to leave London on the morrow, when there is still so much to see and marvel at. Early tomorrow morning, we take one more flight to Athens, Greece—our journey to follow Paul’s third missionary journey begins.
