explore the museum. We were all together and piano lessons end at 9:00am. Admittedly, I was concerned that our sons, ages 8 and 5, would complain of boredom, and thought we could at least stop by to take a peek.
As we entered the museum, a docent was at the front door and led us to any room of our choice. Cole, at age 8, asked for the Egyptian section. To our surprise, our son began chatting about pieces of art. It was a bit like storytelling, and we meandered our way through the rooms. There was the hieroglyphics of Horus, the statue of Athena, Hercules standing on a man, and Monet's pond and his paintings which capture light, illustrating the different times of day. When I asked Cole how he knew all this, he said "I've been here for field trips with Trinity. This is what we learn." That Saturday family field trip was a wonderful unexpected blessing for the entire family. Cole's enthusiasm rubbed off on our 5-year-old as he said later in the day the museum "was fun."
The gift of art, education, and Trinity made a 360-degree turn around as it was on a past Trinity field trip that our family came to receive this free admission ticket. We appreciate the teachers, staff, and education Trinity has provided and continues to provide to our sons. We look forward to what this new school year brings and the blessings that will reveal themselves.
