And I gave you this work: to go and produce fruit, fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you anything you ask for in my name. This is my command: Love each other. John 15: 16-17
God has created community for our good. With wisdom that is beyond our understanding, He has made communities fluid so that people come and go, to share gifts, talents, and love with other people. This was true for our forefathers and it is true for us today. We hate saying goodbye to friends but we do so, knowing that God has a greater purpose. And so we are conflicted; with sadness we bid dear friends aloha, but with grateful hearts, we give God thanks for friendships and a perfect supply of partners in the ministry. As faculty and staff leave Trinity, they will continue to share their talents and spread God’s love with others.
We bid a fond aloha to:
Karyn Harada, one of our two fabulous Pre-Kindergarten teachers. She and her husband Scott are fulfilling a long standing dream to homeschool their two children Camryn and Myka next year. We will miss Karyn’s creative lessons and gentle ways with our youngest children and wish her well in their next adventure.
Christie Iraha will return to her former position as a speech therapist with the Department of Education. Chris has been the JK aide this past year with Mrs. Greene. We will miss her friendly smile and wonderful manner with our preschool children. May God bless Chris, Chad, and daughter Marley richly as they continue to minister children in the DOE.
Corinne Ehara will be moving on after serving at Trinity for the past three years first as the accounts payable clerk and most recently as Registrar. Corinne’s work ethic was an example for all but she will be remembered most of all for her big laugh which always brought cheer to the office. This past year, Corinne did a fabulous job organizing our Spring Gala. Corinne and Gary’s two children Alycia and Eric will be attending public school next year.
Jill Weidley, the PS Specialist this past year, will be moving to Washington DC with their three children and husband, Thomas ,who was recently promoted to the rank of general. Their daughter Lexi is in Trinity’s first graduating class and their twins, Zoe and Max, are currently in 4th grade. Jill will be remembered at Trinity for her good cheer, indomitable energy with the little ones, and incredibly creative bulletin boards!
Barb Gomes has served Trinity in a variety of ways over the past ten years. First as a parent: Barb and Brian’s two children are graduates of Trinity and now attend Kamehameha Schools. Barb will beremembered as a favorite assistant teacher in multiple grades, a library aide, a substitute teacher and as a PTF volunteer. Barb plans on getting her teaching credential and eventually teaching, being back at Trinity soon!
Amy Enright is retiring as kindergarten assistant teacher. Miss Amy started in 1991 when her children were attending TCS. Amy and Ken’s three children all graduated from Trinity. She plans on spending more time with her husband Ken who is retired and continues to recover from a severe spinal injury many years ago. We will miss Miss Amy’s gregarious personality!
Hannah Van Wagenen will move on to another local school where she can teach middle school after teaching 6th grade at TCS this past year. We have appreciated Hannah’s gentle, kind spirit and wish her God’s blessings in her next venture.
Meagan DeBoard, our elementary music teacher for the past two years, will pursue a Master of Fine Arts in Theater Direction this fall in England at the University of Essex. Meagan was instrumental in developing our first K-12 Christmas Concert, a new tradition that blessed many last year, and adding wonderful content to our elementary music curriculum.
Bryan Wolfe and his family are moving to North Carolina where his wife Stacey has accepted the Director of Neurology at Wake Forest University. Bryan was first hired as a history teacher but we were quickly blessed with his administrative gifts for our growing high school. As our first Secondary School principal, Bryan will be
remembered for the many excellent programs he developed and his Christ-like relationships with parents and students. God sped each and all. You will be missed but know God is calling you to ministry in a community that needs your gifts. You will always be a part of our Trinity family.
