The faculty and staff seized that opportunity at the start of our school year by crafting a very important document that serves a statement of our purpose, a benchmark upon which to grade ourselves, a vision for shaping the lives of our students. We call it Trinity’s Profile of a Graduate. With it, we intend to teach, model, inspire, grade, compete, correct, organize, plan, maintain, and do everything we do with the end in mind. Teachers of all grades have been charged with conducting their classes in a way that leads to this final objective. Admittedly, it’s a very lofty objective, one that no single student is likely to achieve in total, but the mission of our school compels us to pursue these high standards.
I encourage you to click on the link to read the whole profile in detail. We organize it into seven categories, desiring a graduate who 1) loves God, 2) loves others, 3) loves learning, 4) thinks and articulates precisely, 5) engages cultures, 6) delights in beauty, and 7) walks humbly. Within each of these categories, we have 4 to 7 goals that further define this ideal graduate.
I share this with you, our parents, that you might better know what we intend to accomplish as we partner together in this great endeavor.
With so much at stake, it is crucial that we are intentional in everything we do. That is why we have written plans and statements, which also serve to unify us in purpose. Some of these you have seen, and others are forthcoming— purpose statements and objectives for our Art program, Music, Technology, Sports Program, The Classical Method , the Grand Tour, and more.
May we all be intentional with our work, our parenting, and our lives. “The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty.” Proverbs 21:5
