The school year is off and running! I can’t believe that it was already four weeks ago that our faculty returned to school to prepare for the upcoming school year. This year is an exciting year at Trinity, and one that is bound to fly by. Here are some new experiences that will mark the first graduating class at Trinity. October will bring about the Grand Tour, a 15-day tour of Turkey, Greece, Crete, and Italy. Seniors will follow the path of Paul’s missionary journey to Rome, actually coming face to face with many works of architecture and art that they have studied on their classical journey. They will also have the opportunity to stand in many places that Paul preached, allowing biblical study to come alive in a new way. College applications and the college processes are under way. Essays are being written, application processed, and teacher recommendations are being requested in pursuit of completing the college acceptance process. Seniors are thankful for Mrs. Burkhalter’s steady support and guidance through this arduous task. Other senior elements will include senior pictures, a junior and senior banquet, and a weeklong celebration of God’s faithfulness to Trinity as we start graduation week with a Baccalaureate and end with a commencement celebration. With such anticipation this is certain to be a year that flies by for us as a school. It is in this that I am reminded of our school’s theme verse for the year, Philippians 4:8. It is in this passage that Paul instructs his audience in Philippi about the discipline of thinking on right things. Pause for reflection is not a common discipline in today’s world, and the busyness of this year will certainly test even the most disciplined of contemplators. I pray that we as a staff, and as a Trinity community in the midst of excitement and celebration will pause and discipline ourselves to be mindful of God’s faithfulness throughout this journey. While we are excited about a senior class and the expansion of our school, may our amazement push us to think on God’s faithfulness throughout the process and in our own lives.
